Children’s Kaleidoscope Making Workshop

Looking for a creative and educational activity for children in Amsterdam? The Kaleidoscope Making Workshop at the Museum of Illusions Amsterdam is the perfect blend of play and discovery. In this hands-on session, kids explore the fascinating world of optical illusions and learn how a simple combination of mirrors, light and movement can create beautiful, ever-changing patterns.

During this one-hour workshop, children get a short, fun introduction to how kaleidoscopes work — why reflections shift, how colours multiply, and what makes every pattern unique. After that, they can get creative and build their own kaleidoscope to take home. It’s a joyful mix of learning, making, and imagining that sparks curiosity in every child!
